As one of the most distinctive beachside hotels in Vizag, The Andhra Art & Craft Hotel enters a space where the vibrant heritage of the finest artistic active traditions of Andhra Pradesh has been preserved. Every section of The Andhra Art & Craft Hotel is adorned with artistic work and cultural details that tell a different story. The Etikoppaka rooms exhibit stunning artwork on the headboards inspired by the colonial bed of the Pandiri mancham style showcasing the famed lacquer art of the leisure crafty women of the banks of the Varaha river. Timeless beauty is evident with the use of organic natural colours and intricate cane work.
The pleasing energy of the 3000-year-old Kalamkari art continues to be experienced in the Kalamkari collection rooms. There, the hand-painted works depict the ocean and its motifs in colours made from natural sources and skilful handiwork. The temple served as a source for the design of the extensive woodwork seen here, which is further enhanced by beautiful copper embellishments that reflect the Indian heritage in architecture.
Our Budithi Brass rooms also feature intricate and elegant ornamentation inspired by the traditional art of room metalwork from the Srikakulam district. The headboard design is taken from a temple sculpture of a woman in elaborate jewellery along with the themes of our signature benches that reinterpret the Uayala, a traditional Indian deep-set swing. The unpolished surface of the temple stone slick meets decorative brass components in a stylish integration of the images of ancient times to the current.
Revel in the antiquity of visual narratives crafted out of quirks and factions in our Tholu Bommalata rooms where the art of shadow play in 2000-year-old fashion is performed. Each room is fitted with dramatic headboards that look like stage centre props furnished with draw-back curtains and stage lights creating a dramatic effect as if the room were a beau theatre of the modern fusion of finishing and traditional beauty.
